What is Gigsats?
Gigsats is a marketplace that allows individuals to offer their skills and services for payment in Bitcoin using the Lightning Network.
-
What kinds of tasks can I post here?
Gigsats allows you to post any task. These tasks can range from small tasks to larger contract projects. We suggest dividing large projects into smaller subtasks to make it easier for multiple people to contribute.
-
How do I start a task?
First, you have to submit an offer on the task page. Based on your negociation, the offer amount can be adjusted to a higher or lower value. If the offer is accepted, the payment will be securely held in escrow, and you can proceed with performing the task. Do not start working before your offer was accepted.
-
How does the escrow system work?
Escrow protects both the person who created the task (the "asker") and the task performer (the "tasker"). Tasks are secured by collecting funds for payment in advance from the asker before work begins. It is important only to start work after an offer was accepted. Once accepted, the funds are held by Gigsats and are only released if the asker approves the results of the tasker's work or in the event of a dispute.
-
What is a submitted offer?
A submitted offer is a tasker's proposal to do the task (including a pitch and amount) submitted to an asker. The offer in this state is waiting for a response from the asker to accept or reject the proposal. The offer in this state is still in the negotiation phase, and the work should not be started yet.
-
What is an accepted offer?
An accepted (or work-in-progress) offer is a tasker's proposal that the asker has approved. An offer is only accepted when the asker has sent payment to Gigsats and has 100% funded the escrow. At this point, it is safe for the tasker to begin work. The offer in this state is waiting for the work to be delivered from the tasker to the asker.
-
What is a delivered offer?
An offer delivered (or in review) means the tasker has completed the work according to all instructions and steps. The tasker should have now submitted or communicated the work results to the asker. The offer in this state is wais for the asker to verify the tasker's work results.
-
What is a completed offer?
An offer is considered completed once the tasker's work was confirmed to satisfy the asker. This verification ensures that the work was performed according to the requirements. The escrow payment was released, and the tasker was paid. The funds are now available in the tasker's account balance for withdrawal.
-
Can I cancel an offer already accepted?
The tasker and the asker can ask at any time to mutually cancel an offer, even if the offer was accepted. Go to the offer page and request cancellation. If both parties agree to cancel the current offer, the total amount of the escrow held by Gigsats for the offer will be immediately returned to the asker's balance.
-
Is there a minimum or maximum amount of Bitcoin for a task or an offer?
The amount for a task or an offer must be between 1 and 4 million satoshis.
-
Is there a limited time to pay a Lightning Network invoice?
The invoice timer is set to 10 minutes. The timer is a protection mechanism against Bitcoin volatility. The invoice is considered expired if the user does not pay the invoice within this period.
-
What to do after finishing my task?
Once you have finished the task, go to the task page and mark it as Delivered. A notification will be sent to the asker, and they will review your work. If the asker determines it is acceptable, the asker will mark it as Completed.
-
I'm disagreeing on a task and not getting paid. What should I do?
In the case of a disagreement, such as the tasker's results not meeting the requirements or the asker failing to pay for adequately delivered results, contact our support promptly via Twitter @gigsats. Gigsats will evaluate, arbitrate and distribute the funds in escrow as deemed appropriate by Gigsats. All determinations made by Gigsats are taken by the terms and conditions agreement. It is recommended to choose who to work with based on their reputation and reviews.
